I downloaded a map to my desktop how do i delete the whole thing. If i right click my mouse on the icon it just deletes the shortcut, right? How do i quickly get rid of the whole program.

If you chose the delete option that will delete the entire map right there and then. To test that simply copy a file stored in a folder into the user name>desktop folder to see an icon appear on the desktop when copied and pasted with two explorer windows open.

When going to delete the copy in the desktop folder all you have to do is right click on the shortcut. Anything found in that folder appears on the desktop and can be easily deleted by a right click on the icon seen.

If its a program your going to need to go to (assuming windows xp) start>control panel>add remove programs. Uninstall it from there.

If your just saying its a shortcut on your desktop. Right click the shortcut and it will have the directory to the file like "c:/program files/file1". Just go to my computer, the c drive, program files, and delete file1. Then back on your desktop delete the shortcut.

If it was simply downloaded to the desktop and never opened then a quck right click for the delete option removes the entire file since it was saved in the desktop folder and made. visiable. For any type of installer then kobaj summed it up there where you need to remove all registry entries created as well as any folder.

When you say map is that a jpg or bmp save or anything like a game map?
