what is the software to test if CPU works correctly or failure

I applied thermal paste wrongly to the side of the heatsink, instead of to the side of CPU, I am worried that the thermal paste could leak into the CPU. What is the software to test if a CPU is still working correctly? I once experienced sudden blue screen which requires reboot .

Basically its the same thing when applying paste to the heatsink. You need to download a temperature program to check temps. Realtemp or Coretemp are the top 2 programs. Hardware monitor would be another one.

if your leaked cpu tim were causing a short the system would likely not boot, similarly to when you have a short between the motherboard and case.

regular thermal past has a high dielectric so there shouldn't be an issue
pasts with silver or aluminum will possibly pass some current but it's doutfull enough to affect any thing. the stuff is designed for thermal condutance and lack of conducting current. (although in the back of my head this keeps poping up "heat will come with an e,electrical charge " but i think it's to small to bet of concern)
