What is this file?

I just bought a used Dell Inspiron 2650 today from this guy. I'm only gonna use it for internet and need it stripped down as much as possible. I ran Windirstat and the biggest thing on there is this:

c:/windows/system32/wbem/repository/fs/index.btr

What is this? It's taking up 3.5 GB and I haven't seen this file on any other version of XP. It's XP home, service pack 3. Thanks.

Just do a fresh install of windows on the machine if possible. I know I wouldn't trust something from someone I didn't know.

I was thinking that, but then I would have to install all the drivers over again. I scanned it with a few programs so I think it's ok.

I suppose so. It came with a wireless card and the utility running it is ZyXEL G-1705 utility. Is there anyway I can save this somewhere and get it back?

Every laptop has it's number at the back.So look at that number and according to it download all the needed drivers. Here is the ones you should need for sure:

-Chipset driver
-Graphic driver
-Audio driver
-LAN network driver
-Wireless LAN network driver

So download those drivers for your laptop, save them on some other removable media such as USB flash disk (stick) and then completely format the entire hard disk drive and install Windows on it.

NOTE: Be sure to download the drivers for the type of the Windows OS you will be using. For example you should not download drivers for Windows 7 if you will install Windows XP...
