I came across it online and it's called a SurfBouncer Flash-Drive Personal VPN?

What is its primary purpose and would it work on a MacBook Pro?

Sorry I am sort of new to tech., which requires some learning. Most websites try to explain what this does but never puts it into layman's terms - nor lets me know if its compatible with a MBP.

Here is the link to the product: http://www.surfbouncer.com/VPN_flash_drive.htm

it sounds a lot like its cheating the system. It is compatible with your macbook as long as you can run VMware player, which I am pretty sure it would.

What it does is has all the software to set up a VMware machine that you can use to host the included virtual network, thus hiding what you are looking at from the company or school system that you are using the computer at.

Correct if I am wrong, but is the flash-drive a little machine that all your information would bounce off of like a proxy? But it's different from a proxy because you own the little system the information bounces off of? Whereas, if I purchased a proxy online - they would own the systems/servers that hold your information.. therefore, security assurance of where your information is being held?
