What is worth it?

Ok so what would actually be worth buying to drop my temps on the cpu/mobo.. I'm considering overclocking my system (not too much because I've never done it before) and cooling is one of the most important parts right? So here's what I've been looking at...

ZALMAN 9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler - Retail - $59.99

Scythe KAMA BAY SCKB-1000BK 120mm 120mm Fan for 5.25" System Cooling - Retail with this fan
Thermaltake A2018 120mm Blue LED Case Fan - Retail
- $32.98 for both

OCZ OCZTXTCC Memory Cooler For both DDR1 & DDR2 - Retail - $16.99

CORSAIR CMXAF1 Fans - Retail - $19.99

How much would they improve my system (I have two of the thermaltake 120mm fans one on exhaust one on intake, stock fan on my cpu, stock fan on video card, and stock fan in psu) and would they be worth it?

The CPU cooler would be worth it, I don't know about the RAM coolers though.

The front bay cooler would help, because it'd push air onto the new CPU cooler and create good airflow as it can be pushed out the back.

Yea so I'm thinking about selling that optical drive in my sig... cuz if I can only have one (the scythe bay would take the other three 5.25" bays) I want it to be SATA. Also if I put that 120mm fan in it would blow directly at the memory then the cpu behind it. I think that might be the way I go. Thanks. How much would my temps drop do you think? Current idle temps are like 32C/36C for my processor/mobo (give or take 1C).

Yeah, I supose it'd work out fine, it'd be like how I have mine setup, wouldn't it?

Erm, it will probably drop them 5-10 degrees, are you getting AC5 to go with the new cooler? Those temps are pretty good already though!

I'm going to try to overclock my system a little bit... but nothing near its limits because I'm an OC noob so I don't want to f*** my brand new system lol. Also if I get that Scythe it would blow straight over my memory and at my cpu so would that be enough if I OCed a little bit? What exactly is AC5, just thermal paste? If so I guess I'd get it, how easy is it to switch out my stock heatsink/fan with that zalman? Is it literally just popping on off and putting the other on?

I would think it would work with other ram... I saw pics of a guy using that OCZ system with the Crucial Ballistix that I have so I know that would work... but its huge lol.

Five egg review from newegg:

Pros: This is a beautiful product. I'm running (4) 1Gb sticks of 240 pin DDR2 800 Patriot Memory, before I installed this cooler, my RAM was uncomfortably hot to the touch, after installing it and gaming for 5 hours all 4 sticks were barely warm. Install is, amazingly, just as quick and easy as advertised. You just screw the legs onto the fan assembly, clip the whole shebang over the plastic clips that hold your RAM in, and plug into a power source. I have the cooler installed on an Asus P5WD Premium Mobo, with an EVGA 7950 GX2 Video card and a Thermaltake "Big Typhoon" CPU cooler, and there are no clearance issues

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's cheap, it installs easily, and it works perfectly. In other words, even if you have a big stick, you can't beat it ;)

So I guess it does work with other stuff... or at least Patriot so I'd assume most others.

I use Zalman but a few articles with charts show Zalman fares poorly compared to OTHER coolers when OCing comes into the picture why I have no clue or then they could be fanbois!!!

I have Zalman cooling my CPU and GPU bit I have not OC anything yet. They work great and I never see anything above 45c when I put it under a serious load.

currently using the Zalman CNPS9700 for my Q6600 and its a beauty, very cool running at around 28c at the moment. IT is an absolute beast of a size though!
