What is your favorite RAID?

Quite simply. I'm only familiar with a couple configs but will include most.

Do you all wipe out and reinstall your OS on a regular basis?

Either 0, 1 or 0+1. Depends what I need.

How do you mean? I understand that some configurations are much more reliable than others (obviously 0 being the least), but what kind of needs would you have that would vary?

Well the whole thing with striping and mirroring. One is faster, but also fragments your data so if one hard drive fails you are pretty much screwed. Just depends whether I need raw speed (games, etc.) or reliability.

RAID 0+1 / 5 are, IMO the best choices, however they are very expensive to setup, therefor usually RAID 0 or 1 are the most popular for either performance or redundancy.

0, 1, 5, and 10 i think are the best... it all depends on what your using it for

I don't have it setup now since I only have one hard drive, but when I did have RAID 0 setup on my previous rig, I had 4x 320GB identical hard drives.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "how often do you arrange it".
