What Is Your Must Install List?

Hello all.

Well, I'm planning on formatting soon and I was just wondering. After you've just done a fresh install of your operating system (this is aimed at Windows users), what software is a must install? Meaning what software do you immediately install on your computer before you sit back and think "thank god I'm finished, now time to resume my every day life on the internet".

Theres things I'm sure I should consider installing after a fresh format but I can't for the life of me remember what it is I install after a fresh format. Trying to see if any of you guys hit the nail on the head with some of the software you use.

AIM, steam, mozilla, zone alarm, winamp, and then whatever was on my external hard drive like music, photos, videos.

oh yeah a cool background :)
 
Yeah the first thing i do is install Avast antivirus....then i update windows at windows updates.

then i install the rest:

Wireless keyboard and mouse drivers
Ati drivers & sound drivers
CyberLink PowerDVD
CCleaner
AusLogics Disk Defrag
VMware Workstation
Microsoft Word
EVEREST Home Edition
RegCleaner
µTorrent
Google Earth
Msn messenger
Windowblinds

Thats about it realy....then i just find a nice desktop background and im up and ready to go again.

avg, aim 5.9, mozilla (although i dont use it regularly), itunes (i like the database idea for music cant stand apple), office, winrar, k-lite codecs, nero

The very first thing I do is switch to Classic View.
Then, Avast, MS Works, Yahoo Messenger, Netscape 7.2, Adobe Reader, WinZip, Nero, F@H, Paint Shop Pro, and a boatload of fonts that I've archived get installed.
Other stuff like PowerDVD, Dimension4, MusicMatch, games, come later after everything else is settled.
 
Firefox is easily the first thing...

Then WinDVD, Trillian, PC Probe, Adobe Reader & Flash Player.

Maybe a couple other that I can't think of.
 
- avg anti virus for security

- crazy browser for best tabbed-base browser

- ccleaner for adult entertainment trace killer

- msn aka windows live messenger for chatting with girl-friends

- paltalk when feel bored and needs to hear and talk to people on mic and cam.

thats about it for the "must" install
