What I've been through today

Apokarteron

I got my new PSU, I installed it into my PC, all fine besides the fact that the PC restarted when I pressed "Shut Down", never mind that, I fixed it it was a loose wire connected to the mobo. After I thought I might start a little over-clocking so I went back to the store and bought Arctic Silver 5 and a little fan, (I lost one screw for my fan, looked everywhere for it and found it right next to my wireless mouse 3 hours later). Then I removed the fan and heat-sink which where attached together, to my great shock I found my CPU stuck behind my heatsink, now I couldn't aim the CPU's thousands of little wires to go into the socket, I tried a few times but I bent them and sat there trying to bend them back into position, I went to the nearest PC store (again) which was about a mile away holding my CPU/Heat-Sink/Fan in my hand so the CPU wires didn't bend, I passed out of a police station (luckily they didn't think my CPU I was holding was a bomb) I showed it to the PC tech, he got a pen and flicked the CPU off the heat-sink; why didn't I think of that. I got back home rubbed some Arctic Silver 5 on it, put it in place and finito.
Post your crazy PC experiences.

The cpu tends to stick the the heatsink when you pull it off, but to take it off you just slide it horizontly until it falls off the heatsink.

hmm, crazy PC experiences, hmm

when i was putting my pc together i was getting really impateint, because i couldn't fit the motherboard in as i had put in all the drives first, so i took the drives out then preactically threw the motherboard in, then realised i has just threw about £250 (ram and cpu alreaday on it, not a totally expensive mobo) into a big metal box, luckily it worked though

not really "crazy" is it

Lee :)
