i know have a p4vmm2 v7.3 motherboard made by elitegroup.. im wanting to get a new video card for my gaming but while looking around i seen some video cards were 1.0.. some were 2.0.. i looked everywhere i could online but cant seem to find out if my 2 slots are 1.0 or 2.0.. can someone help???

if you mean pcie x16 1/2.0, then it doesn't matter, the socket is the same, but the 2.0's are just capable of either a higher bandwidth or speed or both, idk, but something like that, but you're fine. and what's your budget for a new gfx card.

im not lookin for anything serious.. just on some stupid shockwave.com games and other games i cant play it says my shader needs to be at least 2.0.. and some games kind of do a little skipping.. but the card i have now only has like 64mb of memory lol.. im not looking to spend a lot ive found a few on ebay for 50-60 bucks..

STOP dont buy anything your board does not support Pci express, this

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pr...ilID=333&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=24&LanID=0

that is your board and it only supports pci not pci express. You only choice is to upgrade to better agp card which means you are restricted to older tech.

What are the exact specs of your computer? I'll try and see if it is the gpu, which it prob is, or something else causing the problem.

no there isnt you are stuck with agp tech. It also looks like your are limited to x4.

What are the full specs of your system.
