EDIT: I completely edited my OG post since my needs have changed. I just wish there was a way to change the Threads title.

Need a 120Hz Monitor
I still need a monitor. However I need a monitor with Higher refresh rate than my Asus VE248H which only has 60Hz. I need a monitor with 120Hz. Reason being, I have to play all my games with Vsync on to stop the screen tearing. I hate Vsync and I hate having to play games that my system is well capable of getting 100FPS+ down to just 60FPS because I have to use Vsync.

What I need:
1) Budget is $275
2) Only New. Refurbs or even used would be okay ONLY if they offer a good warranty on it.
3) 120Hz is a must
4) I would really like nothing smaller than 23" but 24" is really what I want.

Thanks!

Get the 24", it has the faster response time and with the LED backlight its easier on the eyes.

Positives to a LED screen

EpicSurvivor,

There are multiple positives to purchasing an LED LCD display over a Cold-Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) LCD display.

LEDs often produce brighter or more dynamic pictures than their alternative CCFL backlight. LED screens are often more slim than the CCFL, which is the case with these two screens you posted. An LED screen produces less environmental pollution when disposed of. Lastly, LED screens tend to take 20% to 30% less power consumption than a CCFL LCD backlight.

Hope this helped! :)

I need a monitor for my rig and came across this 2 monitors from Asus (Link below) but I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to monitor specs. The only visible difference that I know is that one is 24" the other one is 23.6" and that one is LED back lit and the other one is not, not even sure what difference is.

I wanted the 24" but the 23.6" is the same price and has a $30 Promotional gift card which is pretty darn sweet.
Can you guys help me pick the pros and cons?

ASUS 24"http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236102
Asus 23.6"http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-236-052&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=5&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=1#scrollFullInfo
I would go with the 23.6 inch. I know someone who has it for a while now, and hasn't had one single problem with it, ever. he even dropped it(from a short fall) and it didn't crack or anything.
