What motherboard would you reccomend for an AMD?

Budget is about $200 AU. But if it goes a little bit over I'm not concerned.

I'll probably be using it with an AMD 3500+. It'll be used for a bit of everything, but mainly playing games and transfering shit from my VCR onto PC (through TV tuner).

$200 for a mobo. well with that kinda budget the sky is pretty much the limit. i would recommend the gigabyte 8sigma series: GA-K8NXP-SLI
The best feature about his board is the DPS. I have one and love it.

ku-sama, PCI-e

ignorantguy, thanks for the suggestion. ill check that out. also ignorantguy, what cases are compaitble with that mobo? i noticed youve got one listed in your sig, but thats more than i want to spend on a case.

The DPS is a nice feature although if you have a good PSU its not as crucial anymore.

While both the Gigabyte and the SLI DFI board are good I'd suggest both the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum or DFI Lanparty UT NF4Ultra-R (nonSLI) as to maximize your value

The former has onboard hardware audio and is a very stable board while the latter allows you to get knee deep into OCing and mess around with a lot of stuff (but at the same time is also a higher maintainance board if you will)
