What notebook to buy?

Hey I had a question. my mom is buying me a notebook for Christmas and I was wondering what kind and model I should get? She will spend $650.00. I may put in a little more but I don't know. What brand should I get and what model. I want this notebook for online gaming and regular gaming. These will be big games too. Like GTA vice city, Half life 2 stuff like that. Please help. Thanks

Well for only $650, you're not going to get anything "hardcore" enough to do all that and more. For only $650 (probably 600 + tax), I'm sure you'll find something nice as a budget computer can be- for everyday normal tasks. Maybe some intense rounds of solitaire or mindsweeper, too. :rolleyes:

so total of $1200 +tax for a decent gaming laptop??
 
Alienware? I wouldn't recommend them, since their only a boutique shop. Just like Sager, VoodooPC and Hypersonic, they're all just rebranded computers with a paint job or deformity (some current, some older models). With any boutique shop, you're paying about $500-$1500 extra their extra ingredient, in this matter it's the alien head sticking out of your lid. I'm glad that they've brought in more lower priced models, but all I see are Clevo, Asus, and Compal models there.

cuz for that money you can get a cheap 14inch Compaq with cpu video and 20gb hard drive and 512mb ram which is only good for MS Word and Online Java Games :D
sorry pal, you need atleast $1,500 for a good one or $2,000 for one you will kiss your moms ass for with all the fun you will have :D
