What OS?

Hey my friend just lost one of his HDD's and had to have his whole computer wiped so he now has no OS on his computer. I was wondering what he should go with? He doesn't have alot of money so I was thinking Linux. Also he doesnt play games or have an internet connection so mainly he just listend to music and plays around on paint and such. I think he just had 1GB RAM put in and also has about 140GB of HDD space (a 60 and an 80). Plus I should probally mention he isnt tech savvy at all. So what would be the best choice for him? Also what Media Player should he get?

If windows isn't a possibility, I'd say to go find one of the more popular Linux OS's. Ubuntu would probably be a good choice, I think you can get a CD sent to you on their website.

your friend might become techy someday,everyone does. i suggest windows, more programs and games to install.
