what printer to choose

i've got this small business where i print name stickers using of course sticker paper (the glossy one). i've tried some printers (don't know the brand and type though) to print the name stickers but after printing it's kinda blur and unsatisfactory. is there a specific printer that suits for this kind of job? i'm a little short of cash so the better if cheap but has a quality output.

btw, if this matters i'm form Philippines. thanks.
 
I would shy away from inkjet printers and focus on lasers. be sure to get sticky paper that is compatible with lasers.
 
My guess would be that you are using laser sticker paper in the inkjet machine. That can sometimes cause minor to severe blurring. Check to make sure the paper is specifically for inkjet machines (preferably not multi-purpose). If it is, then I second Quiltface's suggestion and go with a laser machine with laser compatible stickers.
 
i overlooked the note written ink jet friendly and the sticky paper is satin type of paper.

lets say i used this 'ink jet friendly' sticky paper to a laser printer, will it still blur?

and what if i used the paper to an ink jet printer and still gives an output that is blur? what would be causing the problem?
 
Its not a blurring issue it would be a heat issue. Doing 1 or 2 might be fine but as those rollers heat up you might start to get some melty stickers.... wont be good.
 
that could be taken accounted for... didn't thought of that.
but regarding my question, would there be any difference by using an 'ink jet friendly' sticker paper to a laser printer?
 
No it probably wont look any different, as long as it isn't too hot for the paper. A laser jet might take longer for that to happen but ive seen people put photo paper for an ink jet in a copier and print of some pictures... not good, the gloss melted to the rollers and the thing had to have new parts installed.
 
^^ Bingo on the damage to a printer for the stuff melting. That's why if you take a look at the prices of the same product in which one is ink jet and one is laser, the laser is always more expensive; this is to withstand the heat and not melt all over.

As for the reproduction of the image on to the paper, it's true that it probably won't have much difference as far as the sharpness of the image. However, you use laser paper in an ink jet machine, and you will get that type of blurring. Ink jet paper is designed to have the ink soak in and keep the image sharp, while laser just sits on the surface. Which is why when the ink goes on the laser paper in can't soak in properly and goes all over the surface of the paper instead of into the paper like it's supposed to.
 
oh... now i really understand the concept.
then i'll go for ink jet printers for printing...

another thing, anyone can suggest what brand and cost friendly printers are available in the market?
i'm really peculiar in quality outputs.
 
It really depends on what you're looking to do... Did you want to do pictures, or graphic heavy flyers or something? And how important is resolution and color contrast to you?
 
but which printer is better to use with this kind of printing, ink jet or laser printer?

the main images being used are just clip-arts and a little bit high/heavy colored images... then it will be re-sized to smaller ones so it can fit with a fixed size of border.

probably an ink for the price... lasers are getting cheaper and cheaper but the BW lasers are the ones that are reasonably priced to a color inkjet.... color lasers are more expensive and the toners get pricey too cuz you need to buy 4 of them.

my answer ink... but im sure a laser would be fine... depends on how detailed you want it and how much you want to spend.

Even though you are short on cash I would look at getting a reasonably priced printer as the cheaper ones use up more ink and cost a lot more in the long run.
