What Programming languages are there

Hey, im just about to start a foundation degree in computing at college/uni and we have to learn 2 languages in computers. One is Java, and I can't remember the other (think it began with a V), and I know it isn't C++. Could anyone please give me a list of other languages which will jog my memory so I will know what im going to learn. I need to get a little head start before we start as I have the least previouse IT education.

That sounds like it could be :P, what other languages are there (just encase im wrong).

At first I was thinking it was VBS but then realised thats a till system some supermarkets use :P. So I think it probs is VB thanks.
