What quatlity videos do you think this computer will handle?

I've been getting by, spending around $100 every two years, teetering on the edge of 480, but I'm way overdue for the hdmi output and am hoping to get a computer that will handle 1080 for a couple years, what do you suggest I get? Will this smoothly play 1080 or just 480? When I say smoothly, I mean, without stutter, while even surfing the web on another tab.

That DV6000 is a piece of crap. So forget that one. The first option isn't any better.

Look into a refurbished Dell Latitude instead.

The E6400 doesn't have HDMI. You need an E6420 to have HDMI.

I just noticed that. I can apparently get one for around $210, although, the Acer Aspire One AO725 Netbook is only $140. I wouldn't know what to think of how they compare in longevity.

Dell Latitude $199 and will play 1080p with no problems. You will be hard pressed in finding a laptop which will play 1080p that is in good shape and will last you for much less then this. 100$ will not get you anywhere.

Well that sucks, the graphics would be capable but no HDMI would be a deal breaker.

To the OP, honestly man if you are wanting to go cheap I would recommend something like a Raspberry Pi as you could have a dedicated video player which will do 1080p.
