I am getting conflicting information and can't seem to find the right answers.

Here is the situation.

I currently have a 256 stick pc2700 and a 512 stick of pc3200 in the comp right now. Comp reads 768mb and works fine. But emachines tech on chat said my comp only supports pc2700, was he just making a mistake or whats the deal?

now see if you look at this pic (PC wizard) is the pc3200 ram running because it supports 166mhz = pc2700 speeds?

the computer model number is Emachines T3624, I think but am not sure this is the MB.

I want to take out the 256 pc2700 ram and add more higher speed ram (pc3200), is this gonna work for me or do I need to stick with pc2700?

All that means is that stick itself supports 166 and 200. Like the first stick above it supports 133 and 166 If you click on the Chipset it will tell what all the memory is running at together. Bet both are running at 166/333mhz.

You can put DDR 400 in one that just supports DDR 333 and it will just backclock it to 333.

What model motherboard or computer is it? Can probable find out if the chipset supports DDR 400 memory.

my computer model and motherboard are posted in first post below image.

Like johnb35 said, it only supports up to DDR 333. You can get DDR 400 but it will just back clock to 333.

Support for single-sided or double-sided DIMMs (DDR333/266)
Support for up to 2 Gigabytes (GB) system memory
support DIMMs based on 512-Mbit technology for a maximum capacity of 2 GB
but this technology has not been validated (current validation up to 1.0 GB) on this board.
