The time has come to upgrade from my ageing MBP, and I am truly stumped as to what computer I should purchase, so I am here asking for guidance.
Function: I will primarily use this computer for school, but I do a lot of photo editing (CS5) and the occasional video project. I'm not really a gamer, but I still want to have a computer with a capable enough graphics card to handle above average video tasks.
Requirements: Core i7 processor, 1 GB GPU, 4 GB Ram (MIN!), 15-17" screen, Wireless N, Bluetooth, Webcam and GREAT build quality
Wants: 1920 x 1080 Screen, 6-8 GB Ram, ATI 5650 and above, Illuminated Keyboard, USB 3.0,
A main concern is the build quality of the computer, coming from a MBP, I dont think that I can ever own a POS creaky PC ever again, so HIGH BUILD QUALITY, is a high priority.
Budget: $1000-1400
Now I know for that budget that I am not going to get a Mac, I have come to terms with that, however there are several computer that I have looked that meet some or even most of my criteria, but not all. Some of the models that I have looked at include the HP dv6tse and dv7tse, IBM Y560 and Dell Studio 15, I really don't have any experience with Asus or Acer, but I am open to suggestions. Thank you for your help!
