What should I change for best cpu OC?

Based on this (taken while running super pi) what should I tweak? It's already OC'd a bit, but I'd like to get to 4.0 stable.

Side question, what is the super pi mod thread ranking the time on?

What temps?
Max 64c running prime 95 for a bit
What cooler?
Thermaltake Frio with both fans
What motherboard?
z68xp-ud3
What case
full size cooler master
Hows your airflow?
good
What PSU>
corsair 700w

you add voltage once you get to an unstable clock, so if you go to a 38.5x multi and it is unstable then you should increase the voltage .1 or so and that should fix it. Also just adding voltage will increase the temp since energy must be used since it cannot be crated or destroyed so it is converted, almost always, to thermal energy, aka, heat.

So I up'd it to 4.08, not totally sure of stability yet, never went above 54C during 32m super pi. Think I could get it higher?

if it peaked at 64C at 3.8 then i'd run it a little longer to make sure it isn't going to do something like that in a game (although nothing uses it enough to make it be peaking temps in game as far as i know other than maybe fsx since it is the only thing that can actually use more cores so it makes since it can use more resources from the 2500k)

Been running it at the 4.08ghz settings for a couple hours, played rift for a bit, temps never went over 54c, averaged 46-48c. The game crashed once, but the computer never did.

not much, you will want to replace the thermal paste every couple years but it should last a good long time still if you keep the temps lower, but each chip is different so it could last from like 3 to 20 years

It will. OCing your processor will shorten the life of your cpu but it will be heavily out dated before it will die from an OC.

Looking over what temps you have I think that you have something wrong with your cooling. 64c at 1.044v seems wring to me. I would think that that cooler should be able to handle 1.3v and higher without going over 50-55c.

How did you apply the thermal paste? how do you have the fans mounted? I know this sounds stupid but I have seen people have both fans in the opposite direction :/
