Hey Guys,

Okay so ive just realised that i only have 22 days left on my Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 licence.

Apparently if you currently have a licence with them you get some sort of discount if you renew but i had a quick look and cant see any pricing.

Just wondering what you guys think i should do?

Renew my licence?
Buy an alternative Security suite?

Kaspersky has served me well,its blocked a few network attack attemps just today.....

Not sure what to do :)
i was looking on avast site,at the professional version,Its £24 for a year,but does it have a firewall?

Not sure if i realy need a firewall now though,because i do have a router with high settings on.

i've always used AVG free edition, and i've never had a single issue. i just run malwarbytes once in awhile.

of course i don't know your situation, you may be in need of more security, or feel more comfortable with more. but i've always seen Kaspersky at the top of the list when it comes to security suites. if you like them, and you also get a discount, than why not renew it?

well,From what i can see,If i renew my subscription it will be for Internet security 2009...not the newer 2010 version.

On overclockers here they have the 2010 version for a year....dirt cheap!

Stay away from mcafee. You'll regret it if you don't. Ever thought about using Zone alarm?

Well i did use Zomealarm a long time ago....its very good but the firewall pop ups get realy annoying,especialy to other users of my pc.
 
I think il just go with some free lightweight antivirus such as Clamwin...Avast or AVG,Then if i do find myself getting problems with attacks then il look at purchasing Kaspersky.

im using Kaspersky also. the same one. also liked avg free. BUT.......the avg free is not the same and does not accomplish the same thing and protection. in fact when i searched for a little more i tried them all. i needed to upgrade because of the grandkids. i will easily renew. it was for 3 computers and i can give the key to who ever i want. i can expire one computer and install on another. works for me.
