I was thinking of getting 512mb ram so that I will have 1gig (in all) :D
or getting 160GB SATA II hard drive :D

I would like to know what will improve my compute more because I could only choose 1 (becaus of a low budget) :(

my computer is a :
cpu : AMD Athlon 64 (3500+) - 512 Cache [939 PIN]-Venice Core
mobo : GA-K8N Ultra-9
ram : samsung DDR 512MB 400MHZ
graphics card : Diamond Viper X800XL 256MB PCIe
case : Sunbeam Acrylic
hard drive : 40gb wd (from my old computer)
DVD RW : NEC 3520 X 16 +/- DUAL LAYER
windows: xp 64bit

id get the Harddisk first ;) because you can run everything with 512 /mb RAM. but without space to install something,.. :)

i agree with archangel, but when you have enough money go for a SLI mobo and another X800XL

Definately get the HDD first, you will need the space, then when u get a little more money, get the extra RAM, it isn't much.

get the hard drive, you will probably need the extra storage as well, and o yeh, an x800 will not work with SLI, maybe Crossfire, but SLI is strickly for NVidea

You are going to need a crossfire edition mobo and a crossfire edition X800 to run crossfire.

SLI is Nvidia way to have 2 Geforce in the same motherboard. Crossfire is the same thing only for ATI cards.

You can get a good 80gb hard drive for like 50-70 $ theses days. Do that first then get another 512ram. Also if its a stock PSU you might want to get a new one.

well a 250gb hdd is like $120 USD 512 value ram is like $40-$50. I think it mostly depends on how much you want to spend. i would suggest that you upgrade your hdd. :D

Well the RAM improves performance, the HDD improves capacity and capability of the system. Depends on how badly you need the space :) Personally Id get the HDD

1. Should we pretend that was a slipup? ;)
2. Lets stay on topic
