What sound card is right for me?

I have a 7.1 channel sony reciever that I power a 12" sub and 6 speakers off. It sounds great with the right input. I watch a lot of videos (including concerts) off of my computer and if I'm not watching anything itunes is always running and music is always playing so I want the audio coming out of it to be high quality. Any advice on what price range I should have on a card or what card would be good for me?

Thanks

go with a brand name like soundblaster or creative and look to spend anywhere from $100-$200, although if our not much of an audiophile alot of people say they can't hear the difference with a $50 card

also is hooking my receiver up through the headphone jack the best way does it matter or does that hurt the quality?
if your plugging it in through say the front i/o headphone jack instead of the onboard motherboard audio there could be a difference depending on the quality of the socket etc but it shouldnt be noticeable at all unless you were analysing it with a computer, however if you were talking about the difference between say using a sound card and the headphone jack then i think there would be a noticeable difference
How much do hear the difference in sample rate and the dB rating? Is it worth spending the money on that first card over say this one?
it all depends how much money you are willing to spend, alot of people would say that it is worth the extra money, it all depends on how much you sue the system. the difference would be noticeable but to a degree, but the cheaper card would still produce fantastic sound, the more expensive card simply provides a wider range of sounds but might be worth it if you want a really perfectly pure sound, otherwise go with the cheaper card.
