What specs do I need for my laptop

Well I have a laptop its a Compaq Presario CQ60 and its 4 years old now and I really dont want to buy new stuff for it but it runs Starcraft 2 like a gaming desktop would with no lag but I want to upgrade to a new laptop HP or Compaq I do heavy gaming, hd editing, animations and would prefer an intel core the one I wanna customize is HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition series
 
Do not ever ever get a hp, hp is the worst of the worst, worst parts, They put it together weird, over priced, they put a ton of hp crap on your comp which slows it down, they have the worst support ever and they break super fast, not to mention the over heating which caused burns on the ends of all my fingers when I picked it up once and almost had to go to the hospital. My buddy works for hp and he's pretty high up and he said he wouldn't be caught dead using one of the damn things he doesn't even use a hp at work.
 
I have never have had any of the issues you listed no slowing down, good support, no breaking, and no over heating so as far I know you have had a bad experience have had HPs for 10 years
 
Dells are half decent but those old ones were tank lol my dad had this Dell it was like pentium 2 or some crap it lasted for 5 years playing the newest games
