I just fixed my issue with my display not coming through, I was doing my last runthrough check", and I think my fresh, brand new hard drive just took a .... on me.

It was my last test to make sure everything works, then suddenly everything shuts off. I try to turn it back on, and it seems as if the whole computer is shorting out. I tried another power cable in the hard drive just to make sure, and same thing. I unhook the power, just the power, from the hard drive, and the whole thing powers up fine. The IDE cable is still in, I know that isn't the problem, just the hard drives power connection, I just don't get it. This is now my 5th problem. No, none of them came at the same time, it was always something, I fix my display problem and this happens. Any ideas? I really don't want to hear that the hard drive probably fried and I am going to have to send it back and get a new one. No, it was nothing I did, just a normal startup to make sure everything looked good and poof, it was dead. I am having so much bad luck...

Oh yeah, its a Samsung Spinpoint P series 160GB HD...

Thanks for any help.
