what to get? video card!

Well i need a new video card!

My budget is $350 CAN

It will be used for gaming and rendering graphic media

Im running quad processor and 5 GB of ram.

I dont trust nVidea cards, so therefore I shall get a ATI card, but I do not know what to get that can handle intesnse graphic media and apps.

So I'm hoping to get some input on this topic.

I've been told ATI 4800 series 512mb something dual rather...its equivlent to the Nvidea 8800gts i think..is this right and a good card?

With that budget I'd get the ATi Radeon 4870.

i would get a 4870 that is like 40% better that a 8800GTS
im not sure what a 4870 is worth in cad so u might be able to get 2 of em

Just make sure it will fit in your case, it is a big card and that would suck to get the thing and it won't fit. Then you will have to do some cutting

I agree with ScOuT, I have experience with using this card, it works good.
