I am getting a new video card and would like to know what one to get i see these two will fit my system what one would be the best for Gaming? GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported // GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 The 512MB is $10 more then the 1GB i don't get that.

both those cards are not good for gaming. for the price of those two you could get something much better in a single card format. Ati cards are cheaper, have better IQ (arguably) and better performance generally speaking. you should get something like a 4850 or 4770

neither... they really are not good for gaming... if your bent on getting those, get the 512 and save your money so you can buy a decent card for the price... IE 4870/4890/5770

My card now is a PCI does that mean i can not get what you guys said to get or i can? i Would be willing to buy a card for $150 just not sure what my system can take for a card

If he wanted to get 9500 I can't imagine what CPU he has and RAM etc.
Advertising a expensive GPU isnt a good idea, he might still be on single core and 1 GB of RAM. Tell us you specs.

it will still get more FPS then a 9500... but i understand what your saying... sid2007, what he means is, the video card may not be the bottleneck of your computer...

O thats not to bad, well i would go with something like this.

I have this card, in ddr4, but basically the same thing, it does great for the gaming i do. Maxes out COD4/WoW/TDU/NFS.

I personally wouldn't get the 4870 because it costs 50 bucks more, than the 4850, and you dont see much of an improvement, especially with a system like yours that is 2+ years old.

I would go ati, because you will get a better bang for you buck. Nvidia is damn expensive.

sorry, when i said 4770, i meant 5770... my finger hit the wrong button! the 5770 IS a gaming card! its between the 4850 and 4870 in performance... the card is also physically smaller and needs only 1 power connector.

Could you tell us the exact model of your computer or better yet the model of the motherboard. If you have only PCI, PCI-e will not work for you.

If he has Core2Duo and 4GB of RAM I'd imaging that he has PCI-E x16 1.0 at very least.

P.S. OC that CPU and get 4870 or GTX260 :)
