Hi everyone, I have a few questions, I'm building myself a new computer and i was wondering whats the major difference between dual channel memory (DDR) and just regular DDR. I found a stick of pc 3200 512mb for 39.99 (canadian) at this link

If i plan on overclocking later on would i be better off with dual channel memory or this and will it make a huge difference?

And my final question, would it be better to put 1gb of dual channel ram or 2gb of the regular pc3200

thx a lot for your help

There's no difference in the actual memory, its in the ability of the motherboard to run dual channel. My advice would be buy 2 sticks of 512 MB and run them in dual channel, assuming your mobo supports it. That should be fine for almost any normal application.

You'd be hardpressed to find a HT mobo that doesnt..... hmm.... Delll... I partially retract that....

if your mobo dont support dual ram its ok it will still read the mem and 2gb wow thats allot but i may get 2gigs aswell because games now are recomending over 1gig now (some games are)
