what video card is comparable to the 8600seires and the 8800series, but crossfire?

i bought an amd phenom cpu and most of the supported motherboards only support crossfire cards. i only know about the sli's but i have not clue about the crossfire cards. which ones should i get?

Well, I'd say the HD3850 would be the comparison to the 8600GTS although the HD3850 would perform way better. And to compete with an 8800GT, the best way to go is the HD3870.

The HD3870 is behind the 8800GT in every test. Definitely get the 8800GT if you can get your hands on one.
