What video card is this?

My friend was given a computer and he is trying to describe the video card to me so I can figure out what it is. It has a fan on it and he says the only letters or numbers it has is FC on the fan. I dont know if its possible to determine the card from this description, but does anyone know of a company called FC or anything like that? also the card is AGP.
 
FC could mean anything, so that doesnt really help. Doesnt it have the model number written on the PCB? If you really want to know take off the HSF and look at the chipset. What color is the card, if its green its probably nVidia, if its red ATI.
 
Get everest home edition free. just google search it. it should show either the model number or the gpu on the card and that would help u out.
 
guys. if i coulda had him check it already i would. he cannot turn it on right now. he nees a monitor and HD. i am just wondering if there is a company called FC or if the FC means anything. thats all he told me about the card. and also it has to be a pretty decent card if it has a fan on it right? i dont see too many crappy cards with fans.

Heh not at all, theres old TNT2's and worse with active cooling.
 
The fan is probably made by a different company than the manufacturer of you card because my CPU fan and some other generic fans say FC##### (some numbers)

I have a suggestion, if he has a digital camera, tell him to take a picture of it and send it to you. Post it here and it would help.

i dont think theres a video card company out there called FC, i googled it and came up with nothing.
 
FC? you mean FCC? with one big C and a smaller one inside of it? if so, thats just something you dont need to worry about. if you can pull off the HSF assembly, or plug the card into a diffrent computer, do so....
 
Ok then, how old is this computer, and was it top technology or low end wehn it was bought? What color is the card?

so.. FC does exists.. however.. its far from a big concersn, because i cant find much more about them.

( im not shure if this is the brand. however, this is the closest one i could find.)
