what video card should i get?

should i buy a radeon or nvidia (radeon vs. geforce), for agp 8x and around 128-256mb, but not over 35 bucks ( not shipped), i found a 128mb 9250 for $34 at geeks.com, is there a better card for the price?

Not too many choices at this price range for new cards, but if you're considering secondhand or refurbished cards, you may be able to get a 9600 at this price.

This comes close to your budget, and you may also have some luck on ebay.

The one i have just bought.... do you know if it can run on a 269.9 watt power supply?

Here are my specs:

athlon xp 2.0ghz 2400+
2 sticks of 512mb
1 dvdrom drive, 1 cdrw drive
1 7200rpm HD

1. This really should be in a new thread
2. I assume you just bought either the 9600 or 9250, as those are the only two cards so far mentioned in this topic?
3. It depends on the quality of the power supply, of course, but I think it should be all right.

You obviously are not a gamer and prob. surf the web and check email? Perhaps use an instant messenger? Everyday basic stuff as that is all a card in the range will afford you. However you'd be able to play some older games decently.

Point is if your not playing games then it really does not matter a whole lot. Just get something in your price range. Nvidia or ATi it makes not diff. at this point.
