What video card to use

I like to attach my computer to my TV which only has DMI inputs. My (build in) Computer Video has only an VGA output.
Is there a VGA to DMI converter available or do I buy a separate Video Card with an DMI output? If so, how do I by-pass the build in VGA Video?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Do you mean HDMI or DVI?

I'd just throw in a cheap multimedia GPU in order to get those digital outputs.
