I currently have an Asus Goldfish3 motherboard, I would like to add on some ram but I can see that some of them that i look up on ebay are 1.8V and some are 2.2V. Where can i find what my motherboard is capable of?

Hi and welcome to computer forum!

The 2 different RAM voltages you are comparing are DDR (2.2V) AND DDR2 (1.8V). DDR2 is a new type of RAM which uses a lower voltage. Which one you choose depends on what type of RAM your motherboard supports. This information can be retrieved from your motherboard manual.

If you have any other questions, myself or any other friendly member of computer forum would be delighted to help you.

Hmm, well i know my motherboard currently has ddr2 ram, does that mean it can Only hold ddr2 and not ddr or sdram? And what about the unknown brands of ram like this:

This one is 2.0V, is there a site or program that can scan my motherboard to see what its compatible with?
It seems like no one on ebay buys these unknown branded ram sticks even though they are priced like 90% less than what they shoould and they are 800MHz, why is that?

There's lots of G.Skill out there. They were founded in 1989, it's decent RAM. It should work at 1.8v 5-5-5.
