Hi everyone, i am sure a poll like this has been made in the past. However i need to get an up to date idea of what web browsers people use and why for an assignment i am doing.

It would be great if you could also write why you prefer and use the web browser you use compared to other browsers as this will help me with my assignment.

Thanks in advance!

this has already been posted a few times. Firefox for me and some neat plug-ins. Still using 3.6 even though the newer one is faster. Still waiting for compatibility with plug-ins. Not ready to give them up.

I can not rightfully answer this poll. It is flawed. You only allow 1 choice, but I use 3 browsers on a daily basis.

so, leaving it unansered.
1. IE9. I use it to watch netflix only. Nothing else at all.
2. Safari. General browser except downloads. I use it because I like the looks of it. so apply. And of coarse its the browser I use on le Macbook Pro.
3. Chrome (and chromium). Downloads only. I like the setup for downloads, and the ease of changing download location (download a lot of .doc files strait to the flashkey).

Previous versions of IE was crap, IE9 is now quite fast and more secure, it has never caused me any concern at all. I don't need all the addons that Firefox has, just a trimmed browser that's compatible with all websites and banking.

Even though there have been numerous threads on this, browsers get updated frequently so quite often people change their preferred browser.

I still use Firefox, but it's been getting worse and worse lately.

Selected Firefox in the poll because I use PaleMoon.

-Highly optimized for modern processors
Older systems are not supported, which allows for a faster browsing experience on newer hardware.

-100% Firefox sourced: As safe as the browser that has seen years of development.
-Uses slightly less memory because of disabled redundant and optional code
-Significant speed increases for page drawing and script processing
-Stability: experience fewer browser crashes.
-Support for SVG and Canvas, and downloadable fonts including WOFF
-Support for HTML5 and WebGL (v4+)
-Support for Firefox extensions (add-ons), themes and personas
-Support for OOPP (Out-of-process plugin execution)
-Able to use existing Firefox profiles, bookmarks and settings

Firefox because of the add ons, but it's getting worse and worse. I can't even use it on my laptop anymore, it makes the damn thing run at constant 100% cpu and it's a mid-range i5.

Desktop - Firefox 99% of the time. I have Chrome installed as a second browser for a second facebook account (family account I check a few times a month).

Laptop - Chrome

Droid 3 - Opera mini

I used Palemoon for a while, but it doesn't support a handful of add ons that I use, but it's great otherwise.
