What will a gaming mouse give me?

Okay..

I've never bought a gaming mouse before in my life.

I'm a wireless guy, but for a good mouse I'm tempted to go back to wired, the only decent wireless mouse I've found is something from Microsoft but its like £50.

So.

What gaming mouse is recommended?

And what advantages will one give me over my Standard Logitech Optical mouse.

It came with my MX3200, so should be too much of a BAD mouse.

Anyway, advantages?

I'm looking for a replacement as the plastic film has started peeling away from the side of mine & I've lost the battery cover so the batteries keep falling out

Apart from obviously extra buttons, and sensitivity, (I don't have cursor set to very fast anyway) What will a gaming mouse give me?

:)

Extra buttons and sensitivity is pretty much the entire difference between a cheap mouse and a quality mouse. And comfort too, I suppose.

I'll tell you what my Logitech G5 can do:

Adjustable DPI (buttons on the mouse, very handy in games or limited desk space)
A "back" button on the mouse (the 2007 version has a foward and back button)
Weights (i love a heavier mouse rather than a light one, personal preference)
Nice shape (comfortable to use for extended periods of time)
Good grip
And those polytetrafluoroethylene feet. (lol @ tongue twister, but with these feet you won't need a mousepad)

If you get a gaming mouse, get a logitech. they make a lot of good and some of the best stuff on the market.
