No, it wouldnt run more FPS in a game, unless it was a game like Battlefield 2 in which case you can only run it at medium settings in 1024x768 with a GB of ram. However, increasing your ram count to 2 GB would make it so that you get lightning fast loading times and there would be little to none freezing times when you quit the game, and your computer would not slow down after the use of such heavy gaming.When you enter the game, there wouldnt be any of that black screen for about 5 sec's before the logos pop up. So basically, just getting another gig of RAM will certainly help you with next-gen games, and will help boost your computer speed not in-game(might with the absolute latest), but loading, exiting and entering games. I have a P4 3.2 ghz myself, and I think 2 gig of ram would work very well with your powerful computer. Hope it helps.
