whatchoo think

Budget, budget build. Very budgety. For a cheap system, it's good I guess. Don't even consider vista, or games. Not unless the games are from 2003 and before.

For internet, music and watching video's it would be ok. Video editing? That system is way to slow, will it do it? Sure, but 30 min of video would take you a full day to compile with that system.

That video card is a joke. You would be much better off with an older 7600.

That's an overstatement. With another gig of RAM, it would run Vista all right. It wouldn't run games like Crysis, but it could run most games AFTER 2003 on low to medium settings. ;)

DVD Drive SATA is rip, get an EIDE one for $26.99 Newegg... And Newegg SATA is like $30

1GB RAM? Horrible! Get some XMS2 for that price! Even an 1GB stick!

GFX stinks hard. Get an 8800GT minimum, if not an 8600GTS!

Cable is not needed. Motherboard includes it. And it's only SATAI, not SATAII or 3.0GB/s

The cooler is horrible. No Thermal paste? Probably the stock one is better

ECS sucks, that PSU wouldn't power an P3... and the whole kit is highly overpriced

Overpriced HDD, and whats the use of SATAII when you have an SATAI cable? *ahem*

Budget? We'll get you started

^ True lol :D

Just hope that Celeron D is an Conroe :P

2400 wouldn't do squat in DX10 though :D

*i have the TCC
*what card should i use in place of it (check the detailed specs)
*its an effing barebone, cant change that :P
*what can you build better for >400?

*XP home, bitches.

just for the record, it doesnt have to be a barebone if you wanna suggest other things. i just picked a barebone because im feeling extra-american (lazy) today.

as far as im concerned, the ATI card wins this one....but only because the core clock is 700MHz, compared to the 560MHz 7600GT.....any thoughts on that??
the memory clocks match at 1400MHz

but...
the ATI card has a 64-bit memory bus, which is lesser than the 128-bit of the 7600GT

therefore, the 7600GT is kinda winning this one, because 7600GT's pwn n00bz0rz.

Not really good, IMO. How about this:
Intel Celeron 430 Conroe-L 1.8GHz
GIGABYTE GA-P31-DS3L LGA 775
A-DATA Value Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 VDQPE1A16K
GIGABYTE GV-RX24T256H Radeon HD 2400XT 256MB
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB
LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model LH-20A1L-05
hec 6C28BB8SX585 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 585W Power Supply
Total: $403 w/o shipping

By the way, you can get cheaper MB like GIGABYTE GA-945GCMX-S2, Then get a EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB
But the downside is, this MB take up to 2 GB RAM and you can't upgrade to 45nm CPU later
