i see all this software with beta what does it mean?

its a pre-release version of a software program, like the BETA of windows vista, or BETA of games.

It means its not finished yet, or its in testing still, or mostly irs gone, but we are going to say beta for a year, so if anything gets messed up we can say its just in betta.
