Whats going on with AGp

ARe they dieing? me and my friends went to computer fairplex 2 weeks ago and he was expecting to buy agp video cards, however it was overpriced or limited quanitity to choose from. Such as my x850xt was onli available in pci. In conclusion he was very pissed off..

Yes, in all reality, AGP is dying. There is really no point to buy an AGP card for a new system, and because of that, they are becoming hard to find and therefore expensive.
 
I believe the last AGP speed that has been developed is 8x, and I don't see any new speeds being developed. In general, PCI-Express is replacing AGP as the video interface slot, look for that when upgrading your motherboard/video card...
 
just 2~3 yrs ago i remember my friends mocking me for having Pci computer(i had no knowledge of computer).
And now Agps' are dying? since when agp start dying?
 
They were mocking you for PCI, and not PCI-Express.:) PCI-Express is a much newer (and faster) form of interface.
 
its not that agp is expensive more that pci-e is cheaper. i havn't noticed any increase in agp cards at all, but i have noticed pci-e's are cheaper. imo.
