Ok so for christmas i got all new computer parts. I built the computer and put it together correctly! but now everyone once in a while it just turns off, i have felt to make sure there is not overheating everything is actually pretty cool not warm at all, so the only other thing i could think of was the power supply,
Here are the parts can someone please help me diagnose it!

Parts:
PSU: Aspire- 520W (how could that be the problem?)
Video Card- Nvidia 7800 GT
Ram- 2 GB
Mother Board- DFI Lanparty N54
Processor- AMD athlon 64 3200+
Hard Drive- Western Digital Raptor

Can soemone help and tell me what to do?

Hey

Well I would blame several things, but the PSU the most. It's possible that its malfunctioning. However, it could be other things such as heat but you said that that's not a problem. Sometimes, Windows shuts down a PC when it encouters a critical error as well. It's kind of hard knowing what is causing it and I am afraid it's gonna be trial and error. I would definitely start with the PSU.

1. WHat are you doing when it turns off? (games, work, what)
2. Use some form of hardware monitoring tool sya MBM5 to log the temps and voltages and when it powers down, have a look to see the tmps and stuff
3. Got a link to the PSU?

I would take evertything out of the case to rule out anything wierd with the case. I would also fire up a hardware monitoring program (say MBM5) and do recording of voltages and temps to try and isolate the problem further
