Barebones depends on the seller's definition. Usually case/psu/cpu and sometimes RAM.

i belive that barebones has a case, powersupply, and a motherboard

i think they have case processor psu and ram and hard drive. well the ones i looked at do.

It depends on what [manufacturer] and where [you buy from] The place that I tend to get stuff, barebones refers to case+psu+mobo except where explicitly noted elsewhere. In general you shouldnt be getting a CPU (cuz that would void the point of barebones machine to start with)
