Whats my real temp?

In BIOS, it says my CPU temp is ~20C, and the system is ~31C. When windows loads, speedfan shows 2 temps, right now its 17C and 30C. When i run Everest, it says my CPU temp is ~30C, and my system is ~20C.

So my question is, should i go by what the BIOS says (20C) for my CPU Temp, or what everest says (30C)? Normally i would go with the BIOS, but 17C seems pretty cool.

Oh ya, and i have a dryer vent tube running from outside my window to the back of my case, so its delivering around 50F air into the case.

Wow Geoff, I actually considered doing the same thing with thoe window! I would trust the BIOS, 17* isn't that cold for the freezing air you got running in there. If you really want to know, get a temp monitor for a drive bay.

well, with all these different sensors being read differntly its hard to ever tell a system strue temperature, unless you go out and buy somethign like a laser thermometer.... If i were yo i would take an average value of all the possible temps then go from there....

Also, with more than one program it just gets confusing, i only ever used speedfan, as MBM5 doesnt support my mobo and Everest dont do a free edition anymore..... so the onyl temps ive ever seen are the speedfan ones, something like "what i dont know cant hurt me" kinda scenarios......

*EDIT* -
If you really want to know, get a temp monitor for a drive bay.
Thats not really gonna do anything any different, seeing as all it does is read from the same sensor as any program would, unless you go a bit high end and get one with temperature probes....

17C for a running porcessor is not accurate. If I shut down overnight andcomponents cool, upon startup cpu and Hdd should read the same, consisant with house temps, slowly increasing.

it atcually might be true. My CPU runs at 17C, and i have seen it get down to 12C on cold nights. I have used my dads prob. to check to see if its right and its only off my up to 2C

Well its 39F outside right now, and SpeedFan shows these 2 temps 15C and 29C.

I may also want to point this out, when i was putting my new custom cooling system inside, i felt the heatsink of the cpu, and it was cool, didnt feel warm at all. Then i touched the chipset heatsink, and i could only leave my finger on there for like 5 seconds before it started to burn. So my guess is that the ~16C temp could possibly be right.
