that you typically put into the run dialog box and it gives you a list of the technical specification of your computer?

the reason why I ask this is becuase i want to upgrade my computer from a 512 mb ram to 1gb and need to know which type of ram i need.

and as i scratch the recovery diskes for my computer my computer has been re mastered with errors on the machine and feels sluggish so i thought if i bought a brand new motherboard on top of the memory i wont need to use the mastering disks again and can have a good clean install of windows on this machine again

Not quite sure what you are looking for, however, this program will tell you everything you want to know!

cpu-z This is a free program that provides a good chunk of information about almost everything relevent to the system. The quickest route is to goto the About tab and select the Registers Dump (txt) option and then include this file as an attatchment in your post. This provides the basic information on the CPU, RAM and motherboard
