One of the better methods is using the program DVD2SVCD http://www.dvd2dvd.org/ with CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder). The program also supports TMPGEnc, Canopus ProCoder, and QuEnc (only the latter of which is free). You can find a fairly good guide for the process here http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd-avi.htm.
DVD2SVCD will produce a DVD image file to burn if you wish, but the authors it uses are fairly simple and will not make a menu. If you want a menu you would choose to make no image, and use either the encoded video file with another author like DVDlab which supports it.
most dvd authoring programs wont let you put an avi on a dvd they need to be in mp4 format, i use Cuesoft AVI to VCD DVD converter to change my avi to mpeg then I use sony dvd archeitect to turn them into a DVD I think both programs are great
There is a program that's simple to use and quite good called DVD Santa. I liked it for what I needed it, just check it out. They offer a trial which puts a watermark on the movie for the first 30 seconds or so
yeah they have to.. but is it like a good menu though? with windvd.. it gives me bg.. already made boxes.. i think thats about it..(so far i only made one).. so yups.
They tend to have generic menu backgrounds and buttons, but they'll allow you to import your own backgrounds leaving the design up to you more than anything.
yea i guess so.. i was thinking like.. previews, music, bonus, fonts, clips, etc.. everything that you see when you enter that dvd into the dvd player.. i guess there isn't a dvd program that powerful???
