whats the bottleneck in my system?

when i run 3dmark06, i only get about 7500 points. before upgrading to 2gigs of ram and the new video card (old was a xfx 7600gt) i was only getting about 3500 points. i was really hoping to get over 8000 with the new upgrades. i guess the next thing to upgrade of overclock would be the processor, but could you think of anything else it could be?

Probably your cpu is the bottleneck.

Yes it's likely the CPU. I would wait to upgrade at least until July 22nd, when new AMD and Intel processors should be coming out (i know Intel, not sure about AMD), but I read that AM3 socket proc. were coming out soon either way. While I would reccomend Intel over AMD, going to intel would require a new motherboard as well.

@WeatherGeek, i think it's too early to talk about s.AM3...the AMD Phenom series should be out November 2007 i think, and are designed for socket AM2+.Because he's got a s.AM2 mobo if he upgrades to Agena or Kuma,the proccersor will be compatible with the mobo.

Edit,my bad AM3 processors will be compatible with AM2 boards and should be out late 2007 early 2008
