whats the difference for a cache?

since im looking to build a new computer, whats the difference between a 16 and 32 mb cache? i mean obviously double but what does the high number mean?

There is very little difference from 16mb to 32mb of cache for sustained transfers. The cache is some memory on the drive that it can read from/write to without having to go to the platters.
