Core 2 duo uses a new architecture that is MUCH more superior than the Pentium D's netburst architecture. So basically C2D owns PD, good thing you chose the C2D :).

i picked that c2d for the sake of clock speed comparison...whats the difference between the two for your average, everyday joe? [by that i mean no OCing, just using it for, say, music, internet, word processing, movie viewing, etc.]

If you bought that then you did pretty well, I own an E6850 also. Aww...no OC'ing? Maybe a little overkill, but it's all good.... Yeah Pentium D is left in the dust...
