what's difference between 2 graphics cards if they are different versions of a graphics cards from the same company, but they both have the same memory size?
 
doesn't matter which versions, what's the difference if there are 2 difference versions of ati that have the same memory size? the performance?
 
Memory size has little to do with performance, often you should get the card with less memory but better in other specs, for instance you should get a 128 mb radeon 9800 vs a 256 mb 9200. (which are both old cards)

Which versions are u talking about, because like I said above if you see a x850 with 256 mb, your not going to get even close performance with a 9200 256 mb. So no you cant save money like that as there are drastic differences sometimes.

basically, in ati it looks like this:
9600/X300 9700/X600 9800/X700 X800 X850

with the ones with /'s by them, those two are about equal and memory size, or any ocing done or w/e is what will make one faster then the other.
