The contact could be a phony marketing or job offer or maybe something else.

In any case I think we can have some fun sharing stories on this while being educational.
 
According to my spam folder, I have one many London Lotteries coming from an email address based in Hong Kong, have millions of dollars waiting to be collected from Nigerian princes, after a transfer fee has been paid, exclusive offers for things that will make my "stuff" bigger, and crap from my friends' hijacked email accounts :P
 
apparently I had won the sum of 64 MILLION British pounds sterling. Sounds legit...
