WHat's the problem?

Today I plugged in a graphics card and the power button on my monitor simply blinked over and over. I unplugged the VGA and the monitor started saying it was not connected to anything. Diagnosis?

What brand of monitor do you have? Are you sure the video card is good?

Samsung, I'm not sure. TBH I got it from a friend. He takes pretty good care of his computer related stuff, and it's only a year old 9500 GT. The fan on the card did spin up, that's all I could tell for sure.

Try the monitor on a good system to make sure it works. Other than that, I would say the video card is bad.

I'm using the monitor right now, it's fine. So it couldn't be anything to do with drivers?

Nope, not at all. Most likely video card or the video slot.

Remove the motherboard battery and unplug the computer for 10 minutes.

Replace battery, start the computer.
