What's the reason behind this?

I have checked to see if they are update to date by using the option when right clicking. Regardless, they all appear up to date.

I just noticed this a few days ago.

I also just noticed recently that my nikon p510 wasn't being detected when plugged in with the usb. I still am not sure if it's a nikon issue or what, but I will check to see if it does pick up on a laptop tomorrow.

Thanks

first thing to try is a reinstall of teh USB drivers.

GO into device manager, and anything listed under USB uninstall. Once you are done (with all entries), restart. Your computer should detect the USB hubs and reinstall the best driver for them, but if it does not, be prepared to go through device manager and reinstall them.

If that does not work, then try scanning for maleware, and reinstall the newest driver for your chipset. If you have USB3, make sure those drivers are up to date also.

Uninstall all drivers, then reinstall. If it's a prebuilt computer, just go to the manufacture website and download the drivers(DELL,HP,ACER,etc...). If it's a custom built PC, go to the mother board manufacture website for driver.

Edit: Like what wolfeking said,"If that does not work, then try scanning for maleware.".

doing a uninstall on all that appeared with the yellow exclamation point seemed to resolve my problem with nikon :good:

hopefully this will also resolve my problem with my external drive

thanks again fellas - happy new year

perhaps its a card reader with 6 slots for different types of cards? (xd, sd)

I installed a card reader on my computer that has 4 different card reader slots and I see 4 "removable disk" drives under My Computer.
